As of July 1, 2017, all cables intended for permanent installation in construction works within the EU must comply with the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and bear the corresponding CE marking.
To meet the most demanding requirements, OPTRAL has developed the XtremeFire+ product family to achieve the highly sought-after B2ca classification, which offers one of the highest levels of fire safety performance.
For indoor connections with two optical fibers requiring a direct connection to terminal equipment, the FLAT XtremeFire+ cable can be used, while the DT-DC XtremeFire+ cable is recommended for deployments with higher fiber density. The structure of this cable provides a capacity of up to 60 optical fibers, a very compact diameter of just 8.1 mm, rodent protection, and is fully dry, making handling and connection easier.
These cables are manufactured using highly flame-retardant materials that hinder fire propagation in the event of a blaze, facilitating the potential evacuation of a building. Other key features of XtremeFire+ cables include low dense smoke emissions and a significant reduction in toxic and halogen gas emissions generated during combustion.
