Optical Fibres
In OPTRAL we manufacture all our cables with a wide range of optical fibres: plastic fibres (POF) and HCS fibres (PCF) for short distances and industrial environments; Multimode fibres of 62.5/125 and 50/125 in OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4 and OM5 categories for LAN and Data Centers, and analog and digital data networks in medium distances. Singlemode fibres G652, G655 and G657 in all its categories (G652D, G655A/B, G657A1/A2/B2) for all types of telecommunication networks and for the deployment of fibre optic to the home FTTx. All fibres comply with international regulations; ITU, IEC, EN and ISO.

CPR
The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) is the new European legislation that establishes the basic requirements and harmonized essential characteristics that all products intended for use in construction must meet within the EU. The CPR specifies seven basic safety requirements that construction projects must meet, one of which is fire safety. The CPR defines a construction product as one intended to be permanently incorporated into construction works, in the broadest sense—not only buildings but also civil engineering works. Therefore, this includes power, communications, data, and control cables.
The essential characteristics currently applicable to cables under the CPR are reaction to fire and the emission of hazardous substances during normal use. The European Union has established a single, uniform classification system across Europe—a common language for defining the fire reaction performance of cables. To this end, classes have been defined that indicate the cables’ contribution to fire spread based on a series of parameters obtained from the corresponding tests.
