OPTRAL is pleased to announce its participation in the project “SCORPUS – KSSP: Development of intelligent safe mobility services supporting autonomous and semi-autonomous driving,” which will be carried out by a Spanish-Korean consortium.
It is an honor for OPTRAL to be part of this project, which is listed among the initiatives coordinated by Spain’s Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI). Operating under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, this entity promotes innovation and technological development in Spanish companies.
After meeting rigorous corporate requirements, OPTRAL has been selected to receive funding, actively participating in the SCORPUS – KSSP project with a significant contribution.
The primary objective of this project is the research and development of an advanced, comprehensive tool for managing infrastructure condition and road safety across the highway network.
In this context, OPTRAL will be responsible for the design, testing, and validation of various technologies, including fiber optic sensing cables, DFOS (Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing) interrogator systems, data interpretation and automated event detection algorithms, as well as AI-based predictive models.
Applications derived from this development will cover the monitoring of key events, such as traffic density, deformation of safety barriers, structural health in tunnels, viaducts, and bridges, as well as asphalt structural health.
At OPTRAL, we are proud to contribute to the forefront of technology and safe mobility, and we look forward to achieving meaningful results in collaboration with our distinguished partners in this project.
